Preparation:
Ensure subfloor is dry, clean, smooth, and level before starting.
Application Process:
Apply Wakol D3540 adhesive evenly to both the subfloor and the back of each cork tile using a fine-notched trowel (recommended notch size: 1.5 mm – 2 mm). Hold the trowel at a 45° angle for best coverage. Allow both surfaces to dry until tacky before placing tiles.
Bonding:
Once tacky, press tiles firmly into place, ensuring full contact without air gaps or shifting. Rolling tiles gently with a cork flooring roller is recommended for an even stronger bond.
Drying Time:
Tack-off typically occurs within 30–60 minutes depending on site conditions (temperature and humidity).
Note:
Do not wet-bond. Always allow adhesive to become tacky before bonding for correct performance.

- Daily: Vacuum or dry sweep to remove grit. Grit underfoot causes surface wear over time.
- Damp mopping: Damp mop as needed. Wring the mop thoroughly no pooling water. Wipe up spills promptly, particularly at plank joins.
- Cleaning products: Use pH-neutral floor cleaner. Avoid bleach, solvent-based, or abrasive cleaners.
- Furniture: Use felt pads under all furniture legs. Lift rather than drag when moving furniture.
- Entry points: Place mats at external doors to trap grit and moisture.
- Sealing: No annual sealing required. The WEARTOP® factory finish is maintenance-free. Optional varnish can be applied at joins for extra moisture protection in kitchens.
