🌿 About Cork Flooring

What is cork flooring?
More than a surface. Cork is the bark of the cork oak tree. Harvested gently every nine years without cutting the tree. Soft, warm, and alive beneath your feet.
Why choose cork for your home?
Because your home deserves harmony. Cork softens sound, insulates warmth, and feels natural to the touch. It brings calm where you need it most.
Is cork flooring sustainable?
Completely. Each tree lives for over 200 years. Every harvest is done by hand. Clean, regenerative, and carbon-absorbing. This is flooring with a future.
Is cork new to interiors?
Not at all. Cork has been used for over a century. From iconic architecture to modern homes. It’s a legacy of comfort reimagined for today.
What makes Natrul different?
Natrul isn’t just a brand. It’s a movement. We curate the most advanced cork in the world, powered by Granorte, and bring it to life through refined, sustainable design.

🛠️ Installation & Performance

What is a floating cork floor?
A modern click system. No glue. No mess. Floating floors rest above your subfloor with an integrated cork underlay. Fast to install, effortless to live on.
Where can I install cork?
Almost anywhere. Bedrooms, kitchens, offices, even basements (with floating systems). For bathrooms, we recommend sealed glue-down tiles.
Is it suitable for underfloor heating?
Yes. Cork works beautifully with radiant heating. It retains warmth naturally. Just follow the right prep, and the comfort will last.
Do I need underlay?
No. Our floating floors include built-in cork underlay with Microban® protection. Just add a vapour barrier underneath and you’re done.
How is it installed?
Floating floors use the UniclicÂŽ system. For tiles, we recommend contact adhesive on a level subfloor. Both systems are designed for simplicity.
Which finish is best?
UV varnish offers sleek durability. Water-based finishes feel more natural and open-pored. Choose the feel that matches your rhythm.
Can I use cork in basements?
Yes. Use floating floors with a PE film for moisture protection. Tiles aren’t recommended for below-ground spaces.

🛡️ Durability & Daily Living

How durable is cork?
Cork absorbs pressure, then gently returns to form. It’s resilient, forgiving, and naturally tough. A surface that adapts. Not just endures.
Is it pet-friendly?
Yes. It’s quieter under paws and softer under claws. Keep nails trimmed, polish occasionally, and cork will take care of the rest.
What about heavy furniture or heels?
Cork is dense and stable. Sharp points can leave marks, but with felt pads and care, your floor stays calm under pressure.
Will it fade in sunlight?
Naturally, over time. Cork evolves. It may lighten with UV exposure. Rotate rugs to let it age evenly, beautifully.
How long will it last?
A lifetime with love. Regular care and the occasional polish will keep cork looking and feeling like new. Year after year.
Does it expand and contract?
Yes. Like all natural materials. But cork expands in all directions, making it more stable than traditional wood floors.
Is cork fire-resistant?
Yes. Cork naturally resists ignition and doesn’t release toxic gases. A quiet layer of built-in safety.

💧 Comfort & Protection

Is cork waterproof?
Not waterproof, but water-resistant. Suberin in cork cells repels moisture. Ideal for kitchens, and resilient to everyday spills.
Is it warm to walk on?
Always. Even over concrete. Cork insulates naturally, keeping your floor warm year-round. No cold feet here.
Is cork quiet?
Whisper-quiet. It absorbs sound, softens footsteps, and silences echoes. Especially powerful in hallways, bedrooms, or studios.
Can I use it in a kitchen or bathroom?
Yes for kitchens. Cork is ideal there. For bathrooms, use glue-down tiles with sealing. Floating floors aren’t suitable for wet zones.
Is cork safe for children and falls?
Very. Cork contains air-filled cells that absorb impact naturally. Making it safer for drops, spills, and growing feet.

🧽 Care, Maintenance & Warranty

How do I clean it?
Gently. Vacuum often. Damp mop when needed. Skip harsh chemicals. Let cork breathe, and it will look after you in return.
How often should I refinish cork?
For homes, every few years. High-traffic spaces may need more attention. A single topcoat can restore its original beauty.
Can cork be refinished?
Yes. Solid cork can be sanded and resealed. Veneered options can be cleaned, lightly sanded, and recoated.
What’s the warranty?
All Granorte floors include up to 15 years of wear protection for homes and a lifetime structural warranty. Built to last. Backed for life.
Any extra tips for protection?
Use felt pads. Add rugs at entry points. Avoid dragging furniture. Let sunlight in, but rotate to balance. It’s a natural material. Treat it like one.
