Most floors are designed to be replaced.
We think that's wrong.

Where it started

Twenty years fitting floors gives you a particular kind of knowledge. You see what goes in. You see what comes out. Rooms ripped apart every eight to ten years. Tonnes of plastic-backed vinyl, formaldehyde-bound laminate and petroleum-derived LVT going straight to landfill. Materials that took enormous resources to produce, designed with no thought for what happens at the end.

The industry knew. It just was not profitable to talk about it.

The connection between the materials in our homes and the health of the people living in them is real. And largely ignored.

Why cork

Cork was not a business decision. It was the answer to a question that had been building for two decades. A material harvested from living bark, the tree never felled, the forest left whole. No plastics. No synthetic binders. Nothing that off-gasses into the rooms your family lives in.

A floor that lasts thirty years, improves the air you breathe, and when it is finally done, goes back into the ground.

Every other floor asks something of the planet. Cork gives something back.

Only use what grows back. Only build with materials that do not destroy the habitats they come from.

The person behind it

Steven A. B. Myers spent twenty years in the flooring industry before moving into health and wellness. That shift was not accidental. The connection between the materials in our homes and the health of the people living in them is real and largely ignored.

He is a father of two, a nature lover, someone who takes long walks and pays attention. Natrul was not started to build a business. It was started because the flooring industry needed someone to say out loud what most people inside it already knew.

Cork is the beginning. Flooring first. Furniture next. The aim is to change how an entire industry thinks about materials.

What we believe

Materials matter more than marketing.

A good floor does not need a hard sell. It needs to be experienced. That is why we send free samples to your door before asking you to commit.

Honesty outlasts hype.

Cork is not the right floor for every room. We will tell you when it is not. We would rather lose a sale than lose your trust.

The floor is the foundation.

The surface you walk on every day, your children crawl on, your dog sleeps on. It shapes the feel of every room in your home. That choice deserves more thought than most people give it.
