Guarantee
What the warranty actually covers.
This page covers Natrul cork floors. For Wabi and Carioca wall tiles, Granorte certifies the product free from manufacturing and structural defects, and the commercial warranty terms are confirmed with your quotation. Natrul’s five-year workmanship guarantee on installations we manage is separate from the manufacturer’s product warranty.
The headline figure
Every Natrul floor — Naturals and Recolour, floating and glue-down — carries a 5-year commercial wear guarantee, backed by the manufacturer, Granorte. This page explains what that actually means, in plain terms, so there are no surprises if you ever need to make a claim.
What "wear" means
The commercial floor warranty covers wear-through of the surface finish, subject to Granorte’s warranty terms, correct installation and maintenance. Contact us for the applicable terms for your chosen product.
It does not cover normal signs of a floor being used. Specifically excluded:
- Gloss reduction. All varnished floors dull slightly with use and foot traffic over time. This is expected wear, not a defect.
- Micro-scratches. Fine surface scratches from grit, footwear, and daily use are normal and are not covered.
- Indentation from furniture or heels where felt pads or appropriate protection were not used.
The commercial wear guarantee concerns wear-through of the surface finish. Manufacturing defects and installation workmanship are separate matters; the applicable manufacturer terms govern each product claim.
What can void the guarantee
The guarantee is tied to the floor being installed and used correctly. It can be voided by:
- Incorrect installation — not following Granorte's laying instructions, including acclimatisation, expansion gaps, and subfloor preparation.
- Missing or incorrect moisture barrier on floating floors laid over concrete, where one is required.
- Installation in an excluded space — see Wet areas, below.
- Failure to maintain the floor as described in Granorte's Care and Maintenance guidance.
We can help you obtain the installation and maintenance documents for your chosen product before you order.
Wet areas are excluded
Bathrooms, shower rooms, saunas, and other rooms with sustained exposure to moisture are excluded from the guarantee, on both floating and glue-down floors. Cork is water-resistant, not waterproof, and standing water or persistent damp will damage any cork floor over time regardless of how it was installed. We do not recommend cork for full bathrooms or wet rooms — if you are considering a cloakroom or WC, talk to us first.
Making a claim
If you believe your floor has failed within its warranty period, contact us with photographs and your order details. Straightforward cases are usually resolved directly with us. Where the cause of the issue is not clear-cut, Granorte may need to inspect the floor or request further evidence before a claim is confirmed.
